Job Description

MadgeTech is seeking an Electrical Engineer to evaluate products, components, and applications through research, analysis, and testing. In this role, you will design and conduct research programs, apply engineering knowledge to identify and evaluate product capabilities, and develop testing methods to verify system and component performance. You will play an important role in ensuring our products meet performance, reliability, and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Research, design, debug and test electronic circuits and components.

·       Ability to design low power digital and analog circuits.

·       Develop embedded firmware for new data loggers and sensors.

·       Ensure reliable operation of products under extreme conditions.

·       Integrate electronic hardware, firmware, and software into complete systems.

·       Develop test fixtures and assist in transferring designs to manufacturing.

·       Work with a team of firmware, mechanical and software engineers to improve and support the product   line.

·       Contribute innovative and efficient design techniques to allow rapid development of new product models and features.

·       Participate in all phases of product life cycle. Design, Verify and Test (DVT).

·       Updating of production documentation or electronic assemblies with corrective actions needed through the ECO process.

·       Effectively communicate progress and problems to management and other departments.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

·       B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

·       Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electronic design

·       Experience in design, repair and analysis of electronic systems. Must have exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies

·       Expertise in lab equipment such as Analyzers, oscilloscopes, DVMs, multifunction generators, etc.

·       Knowledge of software design tools for electrical schematics, simulation and PCB layout

·       Project Management experience. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage project performance requirements within budget, resource allocation and timing constraints.

·       Familiarity with common communication protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232, USB)

·       Proficiency in C and assembly language programming for embedded applications

·       Demonstrated ability to problem solve and resolve complex technical/electrical issues

·       Experienced with supporting environmental testing internally or externally at NRTLs (National Recognized Testing Laboratories) is a plus.
