Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client seeking a hybrid Data Engineer to join their team in Dallas, TX, Raleigh, NC, or Princeton, NJ.

Summary

This role is centered on developing reliable data solutions within an existing enterprise platform. The position requires more than moving data between systems. The Data Engineer must understand the business meaning of the data and use that context to build accurate, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise data solutions
• Build and enhance data processing workflows that support large and complex datasets
• Understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical implementations
• Analyze source and target data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Investigate data issues, trace discrepancies across systems, and support root-cause analysis
• Develop validation and reconciliation processes for business-critical data
• Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of existing data processes
• Collaborate with Oracle developers, technical leads, application developers, and business stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and established development standards
• Enhance and redesign components within an existing enterprise platform rather than a greenfield environment

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise data solutions
• Experience building data processing workflows for large or complex datasets
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot data across multiple sources
• Experience with data transformation, validation, reconciliation, and issue investigation
• Ability to understand the business context behind data rather than treating the work as data movement alone
• Experience improving data quality, processing performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work across technical and business teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
