Role: VRF Mechanic

Location: Montebello, CA

Duration: Full time

Role Description

The VRF Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Montebello, CA, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC systems. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostic checks, identifying system issues, and carrying out corrective repairs on VRF and related heavy equipment. The role involves executing preventive maintenance routines, ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely, and documenting all work performed. The VRF Mechanic will interpret technical manuals and schematics, respond to service calls, coordinate with team members and supervisors, and follow safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair of mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Candidates should possess experience with Preventive Maintenance practices to ensure long-term system reliability.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with Heavy Equipment related to VRF and HVAC installations and service.
  • Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Candidate should be EPA certified for refrigerants
  • Candidate should possess copper sweating capabilities
  • Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC or refrigeration; EPA certification for handling refrigerants is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Strong attention to safety, adherence to regulations, and ability to use standard tools and test instruments.
  • Reliable transportation to the Montebello, CA worksite and ability to work full-time schedules, including occasional overtime.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with customers, supervisors, and team members.
