Work Location: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 days remote).
Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.
The Quality Assurance Tester - Advanced will be assigned to projects for the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS), in collaboration with the SCDHHS Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO is responsible for staffing all SCDHHS projects as well as establishing and monitoring IT related governance and standards, which are followed by all enterprise project teams the Medicaid Agency for SC.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing tests on technical solutions to isolate and solve issues. Initiates tests, analyzes results, and finds solutions to technical problems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in SCDHHS test processes and SDLC tools
- Demonstrate ability to translate functional and technical requirements and technical designs into test cases
- Develop and execute functional and technical test cases under the direction of test leads and senior testers
- Create and maintain SDLC traceability from test cases to requirements and designs/software components; Assist in generation of requirement traceability matrices
- Participate in defect triage, retest, and resolution
- Create quality assurance documentation and reports as required
Required Skills
- 2 years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
- 2 years knowledge of manual testing techniques (functional, regression, smoke, usability, boundary testing)
- 3 years deep knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid), business processes
- Bachelor’s degree in technical, business, healthcare or related field. Years of experience can substitute for formal education.
Preferred Skills
- 2 years’ experience with large enterprise or e-business systems
- 3 years’ experience using QA tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar
- 3 years prior experience working in a standard SDLC (waterfall methodology) & in an AGILE delivery
Additional Skills:
- Develop and execute test cases; Clearly communicate and document test status and defects identified
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
