Senior Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team for a mostly remote position (must go on-site when starting and when requested afterwards). Must be on our W2, and we are unable to work with any C2Cs or provide any sponsorship. 

For the first 2–4 weeks, a new consultant may need to work on-site at 815 11th St, Huntsville, TX 77340, and may later have the opportunity to work remotely.

This position is available as remote, in-office, or a combination. Office locations are 8610 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, TX 78757 or 815 11th St, Huntsville, TX 77340.

In-person meetings may occasionally be required in Austin, TX, and/or Huntsville, TX, and advance notice will be given. Travel expenses are not covered

Basis to translate operational business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical architecture and will guide multi-team implementation efforts. In this role, you will design physical system models, establish foundation standards across cross-functional teams, and resolve core integration and performance challenges across complex enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT consultant with deep expertise in enterprise Java ecosystems and modern cloud/data architectures and needs to be a critical problem-solver who can effectively lead multi-service provider teams and possess strong written and oral presentation skills to align technical strategy with organizational goals.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provide specialized application development/architecture services to our Huntsville, Texas client’s Information Technology System (CITS).

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & System Design: Develop physical system architectures and balance data, processing, and technology layers to support system design, testing, and deployment.
• Standards & Compliance: Publish, update, and maintain architecture models to ensure full alignment with business requirements, industry standards, and enterprise information management methodologies.
• Component & Technology Integration: Resolve technical component interactions, API standards, and cross-technology communication protocols.
• Performance & Scalability: Proactively anticipate technical, operational, and organizational bottlenecks, specifically addressing database performance and scalability.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate and lead multi-service provider work groups in a constructive, collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Consulting & Industry Experience:

• 8+ years of IT consulting experience.
• Strong familiarity with systems development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, emerging technologies, and enterprise information architecture.

Core Technical Stack (At least 4 years of experience):

• Languages & Frameworks: Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, XML, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Struts.
• Databases & Tools: SQL Server, Azure Data Studio, GitHub Enterprise.

Modern Platforms & Tools (At least 2 years of experience):

• Cloud & Data: Cloud platforms (AWS-centric or hybrid), Databricks platform.
• Integration & Low-Code: API development, Microsoft Power Platform.
• Database & IDE Tools: SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Visual Studio Code (VS Code), GitHub Copilot.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of public sector/state agency IT trends, regulatory considerations, and organizational frameworks.

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline with an IT focus.
