AI Implementation Specialist

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an AI Specialist to guide the responsible adoption, governance, and implementation of artificial intelligence across the enterprise. As the organization’s first dedicated AI hire, this individual will partner with IT, leadership, clinical teams, business stakeholders, and technology vendors to bring structure and oversight to current and future AI initiatives.

This is not primarily an AI model-development position. The role focuses on AI governance, implementation, training, analytics, and cross-functional project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization’s AI inventory.
• Support the AI Governance Team and help establish appropriate AI guardrails.
• Evaluate AI agents, third-party solutions, and proposed AI-enabled workflows.
• Coordinate AI initiatives across technical, clinical, operational, and administrative teams.
• Provide data analysis, reporting, and visualization to support decision-making.
• Educate employees and leaders on AI capabilities, limitations, risks, and best practices.
• Develop governance resources, process documentation, user guidance, and project reporting.
• Serve as an internal subject matter expert for AI-related questions and initiatives.
• Help shape the organization’s future strategy for responsible AI adoption.

Anticipated Role Focus

• 50%: Data analytics and reporting
• 40%: AI and large language model initiatives
• 10%: Internal support and guidance

Required Qualifications

• Experience with artificial intelligence, AI implementation, AI governance, machine learning, data analytics, or a related area.
• Experience training or advising technical and nontechnical stakeholders on AI concepts and tools.
• Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Understanding of generative AI, large language models, AI agents, data privacy, security, and responsible AI practices.
• Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Ability to evaluate vendor solutions and explain technical concepts to business and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, Python, Power BI, AI agents, or comparable technologies.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated, privacy-sensitive environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise AI adoption, governance, or third-party AI implementations.
• Master’s degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, analytics, information systems, or a related field.

Equivalent experience and specialized AI training may substitute for the master’s degree when supported by a proven record of AI knowledge and applied experience.

Work Arrangement

This position may be performed remotely, although initial on-site onboarding and orientation are preferred. Candidates cannot reside in California, New York, Washington, or Colorado.

Regular on-call coverage is not currently expected, although occasional availability for internal guidance may be needed.
