Job Description
Position: Electrical Engineer SolidWorks Oil & Gas
Location: Tulsa, OK (Onsite)
Exp: 4- 10 years
What You will Do:
- Electrical Design & Modeling: Design electrical control panels, power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and cabling layouts specifically for ESP and downhole equipment.
- SolidWorks Integration: Utilize SolidWorks / SolidWorks Electrical to create 3D wire routing, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and enclosure designs, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical assemblies.
- Component Selection: Specify and select electrical components including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), transformers, circuit breakers, PLCs, sensors, and connectors capable of withstanding harsh oilfield environments.
- Standard Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards such as NEC, IEEE, IEC, API, and ATEX/IECEx for hazardous locations.
- Documentation: Generate comprehensive Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for manufacturing and field operations teams.
- Testing & Commissioning: Collaborate with prototype and manufacturing teams to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems.
What You will Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 3 5+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record working with Oil & Gas systems (e.g., Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP), Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP), Rod Lift, or Variable Speed Drives).
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (SolidWorks Electrical or 3D routing experience is highly preferred). Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience with thermal management and structural considerations for outdoor/desert/marine electrical enclosures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with mechanical and software teams.
