We're seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with at least five years of experience to join our growing litigation department in Agoura Hills, California.
We offer a competitive base salary, quarterly production bonuses, vacation benefits, dedicated paralegal and legal assistant support, and a collaborative, primarily in-office environment with hybrid flexibility available based on individual circumstances.
- No prior HOA experience is required!* We welcome experienced civil litigators from a variety of practice areas who are interested in expanding their expertise.
- *Reasonable Billable Hours:* A minimum of 155 billable hours per month (1,860 annually), with opportunities to earn additional compensation for exceeding quarterly expectations.
- *Competitive Compensation:* Base salary of $150,000–$185,000, depending on experience, with additional earning potential through quarterly production bonuses.
- *$5,000 Signing Bonus:* Paid after 90 days of employment.
- *Dedicated Legal Support:* Work alongside an experienced team of attorneys, with a dedicated paralegal and additional legal assistant support to help manage your caseload.
- *Hybrid Flexibility:* We value in-person collaboration and encourage attorneys to work from our Agoura Hills office. However, we recognize that commuting distances and individual circumstances vary, and we offer flexibility for eligible attorneys to work remotely one to two days per week, depending on their circumstances and the needs of the firm.
- *Work-Life Balance:* We encourage attorneys to take advantage of vacation benefits, maintain personal commitments, and develop sustainable careers.
- *Meaningful Case Ownership:* Independently manage your own litigation matters while having access to experienced colleagues and support staff.
- *Professional Growth:* Opportunities to develop a specialized practice, build lasting client relationships, and advance within an established firm.
For more than 50 years, Beaumont Tashjian has represented homeowners associations (HOAs) and common interest developments (CIDs) throughout California.
Our firm provides comprehensive legal services in civil litigation, general counsel, and judicial foreclosure collections. Our clients include residential, condominium, high-rise, commercial, and mixed-use communities.
As an established boutique law firm, we offer the resources and stability of a well-established practice with the personal attention and collaboration of a smaller firm.
The Position
Our Litigation Attorney will independently manage a civil litigation caseload involving community association disputes, working directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including discovery, law and motion, depositions, mediation, settlement, and trial preparation.
- Develop case strategy and provide practical legal guidance to clients.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Work collaboratively with shareholders, attorneys, and dedicated support staff.
- Assist with occasional general counsel matters involving HOA governance, contracts, and related legal issues.
- Active California State Bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum five years of civil litigation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation matters, including discovery, motions, depositions, and case deadlines.
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and client-service skills.
- Experience in real estate, business litigation, construction defect, insurance defense, or HOA litigation is a plus, but not required.
- Trial experience is a plus.
- We value strong civil litigation experience over prior familiarity with HOA law and welcome attorneys interested in transitioning into this practice area.*
- *Base Salary: $150,000–$185,000*, depending on experience.
- Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with substantial directly related experience.
- Quarterly Production Bonuses: Additional compensation for billable hours exceeding quarterly expectations, providing opportunities to increase total annual earnings.
- $5,000 Signing Bonus: Paid after 90 days of employment.
- 155-Hour Monthly Minimum Billable Requirement.
- Hybrid Flexibility: Primarily in-office position with up to two remote days per week available based on commuting distance, individual circumstances, and firm needs.
- Generous paid vacation and holidays.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Dedicated paralegal and legal assistant support.
- Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and professional development support.
- Long-term career growth and advancement opportunities.
If you're an experienced civil litigator looking for a firm that values your contributions, supports your professional development, and encourages work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.
Whether you have experience in HOA litigation or are interested in transitioning from another civil litigation practice, we encourage you to apply.
