Triage Operations / C++ Engineer ::: Palo Alto, CA ::: Local Only

Hybrid - Tue, Wed, Thu (onsite) Mon & Fri (remote)

The role sits within the Triage Operations team and combines autonomous-vehicle issue investigation with targeted C++ bug fixing.

This should not be positioned as a traditional software engineering role. The primary responsibility is triage and root-cause analysis, with software development used to investigate and resolve identified issues.

The expected workload is approximately:

• 60% Triage / Root-Cause Analysis
• 40% C++ code investigation and bug fixing

Core skills needed:

• 5+ years experience in data science or related areas.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related Engineering or STEM fields.
• C++ Development: Strong ability to read, navigate, debug, and make targeted fixes within an existing C++ codebase.
• Root-Cause Analysis: Proven ability to investigate complex issues, identify the underlying cause, and determine the appropriate fix.
• Debugging & Triage: Experience analyzing technical issues using logs, system outputs, sensor data, video, simulation data, or similar sources.
• Systems-Level Thinking: Ability to understand complex, interconnected systems and trace problems across multiple components or subsystems.
• Production Software Experience: Experience working with production code, source control, pull requests, code reviews, and established development processes.
• Previous autonomous vehicle or ADAS experience is a plus, not a requirement.
