The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers within an intermodal yard.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring efficient and timely movement of freight.
• Position containers and chassis accurately by driving hostlers.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to guarantee safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and container moves.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety practices.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders/stairs on railcars.
