Job Description
Role Summary
This position involves managing and maintaining critical air traffic control infrastructure within the Denver, CO area, supporting multiple FAA locations. The role requires extensive oversight of facility systems, ensuring operational reliability, security, and safety. The successful candidate will coordinate installation, troubleshooting, and security protocols while adhering to FAA standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain physical facilities, including HVAC, generators, racks, cabling, and site security.
- Oversee vendor escorts and monitor visitors and contractors to protect sensitive infrastructure.
- Lead the installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cables.
- Troubleshoot and maintain critical DC power systems, rectifiers, batteries, and backups to ensure continuous operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards.
- Review technical designs and contractor work for adherence to standards and best practices.
- Support the FAA suitability process for clearance and assist with short-term contract support during approval periods.
- Travel throughout the region to support multiple facilities, with expenses reimbursed.
- Coordinate with technical teams and management to optimize system performance and infrastructure reliability.
- Ensure all facility operations align with federal safety and security protocols.
Qualifications
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in facilities engineering or management.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (additional 4 years).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and infrastructure management.
- Experience reviewing technical designs and contractor compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding of physical security standards and protocols for critical infrastructure.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the Denver region supporting multiple locations.
- Knowledge of FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or related certifications (preferred).
Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 - $55.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
