Telemetry & Systems integration Engineer

Location: Chichester, West Sussex (with travel across regional sites)

We are seeking a Telemetry & Systems Integration Engineer to play a key role throughout the project lifecycle within our framework delivery programme.

Working closely with project teams, Project Managers, the Senior Project Manager, Regional Commissioning Manager, and Project Commissioning Engineers, you will support the successful delivery and commissioning of SCADA, Telemetry and Systems Communications solutions across a range of projects.

The role involves supporting both on-site and off-site telemetry (Regional SCADA) systems, ensuring effective system integration and communications in collaboration with the client's Operational Technology team. You will help coordinate commissioning activities, support project delivery through to takeover, and ensure that all associated documentation is completed to the required standards.

You will contribute to the design process, provide technical guidance on SCADA and telemetry commissioning activities, and support the preparation of detailed commissioning procedures. You will also help ensure that testing, configuration and commissioning records are maintained and available as required.

A key aspect of the role is supporting the safe and efficient delivery of MEICA installation and commissioning activities, helping to ensure work is completed to programme requirements and in a sequence that enables successful project outcomes.

You will also support project handover activities, working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to resolve defects, complete performance testing and demonstrate compliance with quality requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the delivery of SCADA, Telemetry and Systems Communications requirements across the Galliford Try Southern Water programme.
  • Assisting project teams with commissioning activities to ensure effective and timely project delivery.
  • Developing an understanding of project-specific SCADA, Telemetry and Systems Communications requirements, including commissioning interfaces with existing equipment and operational processes.
  • Maintaining project status trackers and dashboards to provide visibility of progress and support informed decision-making.
  • Supporting design teams by providing technical input on SCADA, Telemetry and Systems Communications requirements.
  • Contributing to the development of Project Commissioning Plans, Commissioning Strategies and associated commissioning documentation.
  • Supporting the development of commissioning strategies from outline design through to detailed commissioning plans and project delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with the client's Operational Technology team to ensure successful integration with existing assets.
  • Helping to ensure MEICA installation activities comply with project technical requirements, client specifications, Asset Standards and, where applicable, Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Standards (WIMES).
  • Supporting compliance with Galliford Try MEICA and Commissioning processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with the development of commissioning-related training content and plans.
  • Coordinating commissioning activities with internal teams and supply chain partners to meet project requirements and delivery programmes.
  • Supporting the integration of SCADA, Telemetry and Systems Communications activities into the overall project programme.
  • Attending and contributing to commissioning meetings as required.
  • Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and dry testing activities.
  • Ensuring commissioning records, operation and maintenance information, and associated documentation are completed and submitted appropriately.
  • Supporting the planning, completion and evidencing of pre-takeover operational requirements.
  • Assisting with the resolution of defects, outstanding works and commissioning-related issues.
  • Promoting safe working practices and compliance with company processes and procedures.
