Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Prince George, VA. The ideal candidate willprovide technical leadership for advanced electrical and embedded hardware designs while mentoring engineering teams and resolving complex design challenges.
Rate Range: $90/Hour to $109/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Principal Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Lead the design, development, and validation of complex embedded hardware and electrical systems from concept through production.
• Define system architectures, clarify technical requirements, and provide engineering leadership throughout product development.
• Oversee PCB design, component selection, and design analysis to ensure performance, quality, and compliance standards are met.
• Resolve complex technical challenges, manage design trade-offs, and drive innovative engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to communicate technical requirements and project progress.
• Mentor and coach engineers, lead design reviews, and promote best practices across the engineering organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE/MSEE); PhD or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 12+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Deep expertise in embedded hardware design, system architecture, PCB layout, and electronic component selection.
• Strong knowledge of power supply, digital, analog, and RF design principles, with experience leading complex engineering projects and mentoring technical teams.

Pay Details: $90.00 to $109.00 per hour
