Job Description


Client seeks two experienced contract engineers to support the on-prem platform initiative. These roles augment the engineering team delivering, validating, maintaining, and automating deployment of CCP infrastructure and platform services in highly secure, disconnected customer environments. The ideal candidates bring deep hands-on experience with VMware-based infrastructure, Linux administration, cloud management platforms, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and delivery of software into air-gapped environments.


Responsibilities:



  • Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi environments for workloads.

  • Package, deliver, install, and manage lifecycle of CCP platform for SilverCreek deployments.

  • Support infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and release validation.

  • Troubleshoot deployment, integration, and operational issues across platform services.

  • Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure automation and Git-driven CI/CD.

  • Automate provisioning via Morpheus or equivalent cloud management platforms.

  • Create automated validation frameworks, health checks, smoke tests, and infra tests.

  • Design and support delivery into air-gapped or restricted environments with private repositories and registries.

  • Manage certificates, PKI integrations, and offline dependencies to meet STIG and FIPS standards.

  • Operate Linux and Kubernetes platform services, resolving networking, storage, and virtualization issues.

  • Collaborate on issue triage, root cause analysis, and operational readiness reviews.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • VMware vSphere/ESXi administration, vCenter, clusters, datastores, HA, DRS, and VM lifecycle.

  • Terraform and infrastructure as code with Git-based workflows and CI/CD automation.

  • Advanced Linux administration, performance tuning, OS lifecycle, and shell scripting.

  • Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting, Helm, container lifecycle, and cluster ops.

  • Experience with HPE Morpheus (preferred), VMware Aria/vRealize, CloudBolt, or similar.

  • 5+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience with strong problem-solving.


Preferred Skills:



  • Air-gapped deployments, offline package management, artifact bundling, and private registries.

  • Image and VM engineering: golden images, templates, OVF/OVA, cloud-init, Sysprep, Packer.

  • Networking and storage: VLANs, vSwitches, DNS, DHCP, NTP, NFS, iSCSI, vSAN.

  • Security and compliance: STIG, FIPS, hardening, certificate management, secure deployment.

  • Software packaging: container images, Helm chart packaging and vendoring, RPM/DEB repos.

  • Validation and testing: Goss, pytest, Ansible validation, infrastructure test automation.
