Position Overview
Seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Materials, Processes & Physics (MP&P) Chemical/Contamination Technician to support a Fluids and Lubricants Laboratory. This role focuses on materials testing, laboratory operations, failure analysis, and quality assurance activities related to fluids, lubricants, and contamination control.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) testing of fluids and lubricants.
  • Conduct testing to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and certification records.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment by following 5S principles and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and standards for instrument calibration and performance verification.
  • Support and conduct complex failure analyses on parts and processes to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop test plans, document findings, and communicate results and recommendations.
  • Assist with the development, validation, and revision of laboratory procedures and specifications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience operating analytical instrumentation such as:
    • XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence)
    • FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
    • pH Meters
    • Automated and Manual Titration Systems
    • and/-MS (Gas Chromatography / Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience documenting and effectively communicating test results and technical findings.
  • Experience performing laboratory testing in accordance with industry standards such as ASTM and SAE.
  • Experience coordinating testing requirements, schedules, and deliverables with internal or external stakeholders
