Job Overview
Join Citi's Commodities COO team in Belfast and play a central role in keeping one of the world's leading commodities businesses running effectively. As a Commodities Business Management Analyst, you will sit at the heart of the Commodities business - coordinating across trading desks, business functions, and senior stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency, strategic delivery, and a sound control environment. This is a high-visibility role offering direct exposure to traders, salespeople, and cross-functional teams spanning London, Houston, and Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operational activities that enable the Commodities business to access brokers, markets, and exchanges, and maintain critical vendor relationships for market data and related services.
- Identify control and process gaps across the Commodities business and manage the end-to-end closure of those gaps in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of strategic goals and new business initiatives by helping the business organise around its priorities and maintain forward momentum.
- Gather, coordinate, and manage evidence for internal audit and compliance requests, ensuring responses are accurate and submitted on time.
- Contribute to cost management and efficiency initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce spend or streamline processes.
- Apply and develop AI tools and techniques to improve and automate operational processes across the team.
- Act as a point of coordination between the Commodities desk and internal functions including Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, and Operations to resolve issues and represent business needs clearly.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects or operational processes in a structured environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities simultaneously without losing accuracy or attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communicator, both in writing and in conversation, with the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose the root cause of an issue, assess its wider impact, and coordinate an effective resolution.
- Collaborative team player who builds effective working relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with financial services, trading operations, or capital markets environments.
- Exposure to technology platforms or systems used in a trading or banking context.
- Experience using or exploring AI tools to improve workflows or drive efficiencies.
At Citi, you will be part of a high-performing team that operates at the Centre of a global commodities business, with real responsibility from day one and the opportunity to grow alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.
- Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you flexibility while staying connected to a collaborative team.
- Direct exposure to a global business with colleagues and stakeholders across London, Houston, and Singapore, broadening your professional network and international perspective.
- A role where your contributions have a visible impact - you will work directly with traders, salespeople, and senior leaders, not in the background.
- Structured opportunities to develop your skills in business management, process improvement, and AI-driven operations within a leading financial institution.
- Access to Citi's learning and development resources to support your career progression and help you build expertise in commodities and financial services.
- A team culture built on transparency, collaboration, and personal growth, where your ideas for improving processes are welcomed and acted upon.
- Competitive compensation and access to Citi's broader financial wellbeing and employee support programmes.
