Robert Half Finance & Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnering with a growing and highly entrepreneurial construction/manufacturing organization to identify a Vice President of Finance with a clear and defined pathway to CFO.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is far more than a traditional finance leadership role. The successful candidate will take immediate ownership of the company's finance and accounting operations, lead an established high-performing team, and serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze P& L, balance sheet, revenue, cash flow, and financial forecasts.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategic decisions.
• Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital management, credit line utilization, and capital allocation.
• Own the annual budgeting process and partner with department leaders on expense and headcount planning.
• Provide financial leadership and analysis to support company growth and operational performance.
• Oversee WIP reporting, job costing and progressive billing
• Ensure strong financial controls around subcontracting, lien rights, and project profitability.
• Manage complex intercompany accounting across manufacturing, distribution, and subcontracting entities.
• Oversee the financial functionality and reporting capabilities of the company's ERP system.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
• Establish processes, accountability, and professional development opportunities for team members.
• Partner closely with Operations and other functional leaders to improve financial performance and business processes.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• CPA, CMA or CFA is highly preferred.
• Must have strong experience in commercial construction or manufacturing with extensive job costing experience.
• Candidates with significant experience in complex job-cost manufacturing environments will also be considered.
• Hands-on expertise with WIP reporting, AIA G702/G703 billing, progressive billing, lien processes, job costing, and intercompany accounting.
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Experience with large ERP, Advanced Excel, Business Intelligence Tools and AI.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, analytical, and business partnering skills.
• Forward-thinking mindset with an interest in leveraging AI and modern technology to improve financial analysis and decision-making.
