Job Description

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer using Terraform and AWS
Remote
Contract

Solid understanding and working experience of Core Java (8/7/21) and its related concepts.

We’re looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Terraform and AWS to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AWS infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Build and maintain reusable, versioned Terraform modules following best practices
  • Manage Terraform state securely (S3 backend, DynamoDB or native locking, workspaces)
  • Provision and manage AWS services such as VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, and CloudFront
  • Integrate Terraform into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline) with automated plan, validate, and apply workflows
  • Implement security and compliance controls: least-privilege IAM, encryption, security groups, KMS, and policy-as-code (Sentinel, OPA, or Checkov)
  • Monitor and optimize infrastructure for performance, availability, and cost
  • Manage multi-account AWS environments (AWS Organizations, Control Tower, SCPs)
  • Detect and remediate configuration drift, and support Terraform version and provider upgrades
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and participate in incident response
  • Document architecture, standards, and runbooks; mentor junior engineers
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on Terraform experience in production environments
  • Solid understanding and working experience of Core Java (8/7/21) and its related concepts.
  • Strong working knowledge of core AWS services (networking, compute, storage, databases, IAM)
  • Solid understanding of AWS networking: VPC design, subnets, NAT, Transit Gateway, VPC peering, and VPN/Direct Connect
  • Experience writing modular, DRY Terraform code (variables, outputs, locals, data sources, for each, dynamic blocks)
  • Proficiency with Git and branching/review workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipeline automation
  • Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework
