About the Role:
Were looking for an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a busy, forward-thinking manufacturing site in the L34 area.
This is a hands-on, varied role supporting the smooth operation of high-speed production lines. Youll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a range of machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with schedules and quality standards.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising production downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical, and pneumatic faults on a range of production machinery.
- Record all maintenance activities accurately using job sheets or CMMS where applicable.
- Follow health & safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out, permit-to-work, and PPE use.
- Work collaboratively with production and warehouse teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
- Escalate unresolved faults or recurring issues to the Lead Engineer
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including tools and spare parts areas.
- Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, and small engineering projects when required.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate clearly with incoming/outgoing team members.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to reduce downtime, waste, or inefficiency.
About You:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Proven experience in both, mainly electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
- Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working shifts and overtime during busy periods
Hours and rates
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating 2 weeks of 6am - 2pm and 1 week of 2pm - 10pm
- Rate 42k salary
