HIRING: Payroll Manager – Workday Payroll | Direct Hire | West Los Angeles, CA
Location: West Los Angeles, CA | Hybrid – 3 days onsite
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $81,200 – $121,800/year
Interview Process: 3 Rounds

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 1,000 employees across multiple states.

MANDATORY: HANDS-ON WORKDAY PAYROLL EXPERIENCE
This is NOT a fit for candidates whose Workday experience is limited to:
Workday Reporting
HRIS Support
Workday Implementation
General Workday exposure/familiarity

Candidates must have documented, hands-on experience processing payroll directly in Workday, including troubleshooting and resolving payroll issues within the system.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead on-cycle and off-cycle payroll processing
• Serve as the Workday Payroll SME
• Manage multi-state payroll and payroll compliance
• Validate timesheets, earnings, deductions, bonuses and adjustments
• Handle payroll reconciliations, journal entries and GL postings
• Manage payroll tax reporting and compliance
• Troubleshoot complex payroll issues
• Support audits, wage garnishments and payroll-related inquiries
• Partner with HRIS, Finance, Total Rewards and external payroll vendors
• Drive payroll process improvements and system enhancements

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of payroll experience
Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations and tax compliance
Hands-on Workday Payroll processing and troubleshooting experience
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Ability to work onsite in West Los Angeles, CA, 3 days/week

Preferred:
Bachelor''''''''s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
CPP certification
ADP Smart Compliance experience
