Job description

At Zelora, we’re making home electrification simpler and more affordable.

Backed by Bunnings and powered by Intellihub, we've introduced an Australian-first Solar & Battery subscription model that helps households take control of their energy without the upfront cost or complexity.

As a newly established joint venture between Bunnings and Intellihub, Zelora combines the scale and credibility of two trusted organisations with the energy and ambition of a growing business. Joining Zelora means having the opportunity to help shape our future, influence how we work, and make a real impact from day one.

We’re looking for an adaptable and hands-on Business Systems Engineer to help design, build, integrate and continuously improve the technology supporting our growing business.

This is a broad role for someone who enjoys working across software, integrations, data, automation, SaaS platforms, DevOps and emerging AI capabilities.

Reporting to the Technology Solutions Lead, you’ll contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and designing practical solutions through to development, testing, deployment and production support.

Quality is central to this role. You’ll build solutions, review the work of others and independently validate changes before they move into production.

What you’ll do

  • Build, test and support applications, APIs, webhooks, integrations and automated workflows
  • Translate business requirements into practical, secure and supportable technology solutions
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and release-quality controls
  • Review and independently validate code, configurations and technical changes
  • Troubleshoot application, integration, data, deployment and production issues
  • Work with enterprise data platforms, SQL and reporting services
  • Develop deep technical knowledge of key business-critical SaaS platforms
  • Explore AI-enabled solutions while maintaining strong security, governance and quality standards
  • Improve documentation, monitoring, supportability and engineering practices

What you’ll bring

You’re an adaptable technology generalist with strong engineering fundamentals and the curiosity to learn unfamiliar platforms. You understand that great technology starts with the business outcome, not just the technical task.

You’ll ideally bring experience across several of the following:

  • JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python, PowerShell or comparable technologies
  • REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, JSON, XML and OAuth 2.0
  • SQL, relational databases, Snowflake, PostgreSQL or Power BI
  • GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD and automated testing tools
  • SaaS platforms, systems integration and workflow automation
  • AI-assisted development tools and secure development practices

You don’t need experience with every technology. Strong systems thinking, quality discipline, adaptability and a willingness to learn are more important.

Why Join Zelora?

  • Establish and shape a critical capability within a growing technology function
  • Work directly with senior business and technology leaders
  • Make a genuine impact in a business experiencing significant growth and change
  • Help deliver technology solutions that support Australia's transition to cleaner energy
  • Enjoy autonomy, ownership and the opportunity to influence how Zelora scales
  • Join a collaborative, down-to-earth team where your contribution matters

If you're excited by the opportunity to build testing capability, lead quality outcomes and partner with the business to deliver meaningful technology change, we'd love to hear from you.
