Transport Driver Emergency Services

• Location: Pensacola, Florida
• Facility: The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at
  Ascension Sacred Heart
• Department: Ambulance Ground
• Schedule: Rotating | PRN

• Ensures safe transportation of ill or injured patients.
• Maintains ambulance in clean condition and working order. Performs regular routine inspections prior to each shift to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
• Assists with stocking the ambulance with needed supplies and ensures on-board equipment is in working order.
• Performs the duties of an EMT or Paramedic, depending on qualifications, as needed.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Licensed Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required. Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) obtained within 30 days of hire date.

Additional Preferences:

• One year of EMT experience
