Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

A well-established Bay Area law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to help lead its growing Trust & Estate Litigation practice. This senior role will drive complex case strategy, mentor attorneys, and contribute to the group's continued development.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters from inception through resolution.

• Develop case strategy for will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and elder abuse matters.

• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families.

• Build client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor and primary contact on key matters.

• Contribute to business development and the growth of the practice.

• Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associate attorneys.

• Help shape the direction and culture of the Trust & Estate Litigation Group.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with active involvement in litigation matters.

• Expertise in probate court proceedings, will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and related elder abuse litigation.

• Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing.

• A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Experience leading complex case strategy and supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.

• Leadership skills and interest in developing a growing practice group; Bay Area trust and estate litigation relationships are valued.

• Collaborative approach and willingness to work from the San Mateo, Pleasanton, or San Jose office.

• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid, with San Mateo as the primary location. Pleasanton and San Jose office options are also available.
