Job description

About the Role

Join an early-stage B2B software team as its first dedicated designer, shaping the design language and user experience of a platform used by recruiters, engineers, and candidates. You will work closely with company leadership and have a direct impact on how technical talent is assessed and hired.

What You'll Do

  • Understand the needs of recruiters, engineers, and candidates, and identify where interface friction affects the user experience.

  • Establish and maintain a consistent design language and design system across the platform.

  • Use product analytics, including session recordings, to identify opportunities and guide design improvements.

  • Partner with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to deliver a cohesive experience across assessment flows and hiring dashboards.

  • Own the website redesign from information architecture and visual design through front-end implementation.

What We're Looking For

  • Two to four years of product design experience, with meaningful experience at an early-stage startup.

  • A combination of UX and visual design skills in Figma and production front-end experience with TypeScript.

  • Experience creating and rolling out a design system across a product, supported by a strong portfolio of shipped work.

  • Technical fluency and experience working closely with engineers, product teams, and go-to-market partners.

  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as PostHog and short research cycles that support timely shipping.

  • Experience with software for hardware or technical fields, such as CAD, simulation, or developer tools, is valuable.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $140,000 to $185,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, with in-office work three to four days per week.
