<b>Principal C&amp;I Engineer</b><br />Sheffield - Hybrid<br />Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to take full ownership of complex control systems projects in the nuclear industry?<br />Do you enjoy mentoring and developing a team while staying hands-on with technical delivery?<br />Would you like to play a key role in shaping client relationships and driving project success from concept through to completion?<br /><br /><b>What's in it for you?</b><br />-£70,000 to £80,000 basic salary DOE <br />-25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, plus buy/sell up to 5 days leave per year<br />-Hybrid working - 2 days from home per week<br />-Flexible start and finish times - start between 7am and 10am, finish between 3pm and 6pm, plus Flexi Fridays<br />-4.5% employer pension contribution, subject to a 5% employee contribution<br />-Employee Health Cash Plan<br />-Life assurance<br />-Professional membership fees paid<br /><br /><b>What will you be doing?</b><br />-Reviewing and approving system architectures, designs and detailed specifications to meet client requirements<br />-Taking ownership of technical solutions from concept through to delivery, ensuring quality, performance and compliance throughout<br />-Leading system testing and validation, and overseeing technical documentation including requirements, design specs, test plans and operator manuals<br />-Leading technical discussions with project teams, resolving issues, and planning and leading site commissioning<br />-Managing project resource, budget and timesheet authorisation, including technical sign-off during the bidding process<br />-Building and maintaining client relationships, leading project meetings and acting as the technical point of contact<br />-Providing coaching, mentorship and technical guidance to the team, and supporting continuous learning and development<br />-Working closely with software, hardware, workshop and project management teams to ensure successful delivery<br /><br /><b>Where you'll be doing it</b><br />Our client has over 50 years' experience in digital transformation and system integration, delivering solutions across the energy, nuclear and industrial manufacturing sectors..<br /><br /><b>What you'll need</b><br />-At least 7 years' experience in systems engineering, ideally within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear<br />-Technical expertise in relevant software packages, such as SCADA, PLC and HMI systems<br />-A good understanding of project management principles, including cost control and client management<br />-Experience applying systems engineering principles, methodologies and integration processes<br />-A strong understanding of quality management systems, processes and procedures<br />-Experience with software development and hardware integration, including working on client sites<br />-Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and support the bidding process<br />-Proven leadership and management ability<br /><br />We appreciate your CV may not be up to date.
