Database Administrator

Core Responsibilities
Provide operations support for SQL Database and Database Server administration for critical production systems.
Ensure overall health, availability, and quality of database services.
Perform comprehensive health checks to review database performance, identifying and providing recommendations for enhancement.
Execute migrations and upgrades of SQL Databases from legacy servers and SQL versions to modern environments.
Perform data migration by designing programs to optimally extract, cleanse, transform, and load data between sources as part of data validation and migration support.
Deploy, configure, secure, backup, and maintain Azure SQL database solutions.
Integrate Azure SQL resources with other Azure services to support enterprise applications and data solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure SQL and SQL Server Database performance and availability.
Support the migration of on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure SQL environments.
Deploy and maintain database schema changes seamlessly across test and production environments.
Provide technical support for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and Power BI environments in collaboration with the Lead Power BI Administrator.
Define, develop, and create robust databases by assessing business and technical requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical database models. Review and validate data models and data dictionaries to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Develop and maintain database structures—including tables, relationships, and normalization—to ensure data integrity, maximize efficiency, and minimize redundancy.
Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and vendors to gather requirements and recommend appropriate database architectures and configurations.
Coordinate database backup and restore requests with the backup administration team.

Execute all responsibilities autonomously with minimal direct supervision from the Team Lead.
Determine accurate time estimates and schedules for individual deliverables and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Identify, document, and track project issues, risks, and action items.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers to resolve complex technical support issues.
Assist in the coordination and deployment of software releases.
Manage workloads efficiently and provide regular status updates on all assigned work activities.
Adhere strictly to established organizational database standards.
Collaborate effectively within a team environment to complete all assigned tasks and objectives.
