After School Teacher Assistant - Sunset Montessori School

Welcome to Sunset Montessori School,  a 48 year old Montessori School, and a division of the Hearing and Speech Center of Florida's educational programs.  We seek part time hourly employees for our school's after school program at Sunset Montessori School,  which is dedicated to Montessori Early Childhood education ages 1.5-7 years of age. 

Our SMS program follows Montessori Methodology, and we seek dedicated credentialed staff members to grow and make our programs flourish. The school is quaint, small ratios, and has beautiful grounds for the staff, families and children to enjoy.
 

This is a part time/ afterschool program team which is from 3:30-5:30 five days a week. This is a perfect position for someone who is in a teaching program so they can begin to learn all about teaching!  We will include art, music, dance and physcial sports activities for our children to make it a comprehensive aftercare.

We will facilitate certifications and trainings based on the needs of the applicant.

BILINGUAL (English-Spanish language) a plus and must have proper references with related experiences. 

Requirements:

• DCF staff certificate required to work with preschool aged children, CPR certificate, Level 2 fingerprints (we can help obtain)
• Ability to work well with families and other team members.
• Responsible and consistent scheduling
• Able to develop afterschool activites and get children involved and having fun.
• Experience as a Montessori teacher assistant is a plus!

We are hoping to find young educators in the making that we can train and even consider for full time employment in the future. HOwever, this job is part time hourly only for afternoon /aftercare hours.

Must be willing to commit through June of 2026 at a minimum.
