Job Title: Data Analyst (Cloud Migration & Reporting)

Job Description

This Data Analyst role focuses on migrating Data from on-premise platforms to modern cloud environments. You will combine hands-on data engineering, reporting development and stakeholder engagement to deliver scalable cloud-based reporting solutions and actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Migrate existing reporting and analytics solutions from on-premise environments to AWS cloud platforms, ensuring accuracy, reliability and performance.
  • Design, develop and enhance reporting solutions that meet business and operational requirements and support informed decision-making.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines using AWS services and Snowflake technologies to enable efficient data processing and integration.
  • Develop and optimise SQL and Python-based data processes to improve data quality, performance and scalability.
  • Translate business requirements into effective reporting and analytics solutions, ensuring outputs are aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Create impactful dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI and Amazon QuickSight to drive insight and support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, refine specifications and deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Support ongoing business-as-usual reporting, analytics and data management activities, ensuring continuity and reliability of key reports.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery teams, participating in sprints, ceremonies and collaborative planning to meet project objectives.
  • Apply best practices in data engineering, analytics and visualisation to continuously improve reporting capabilities and cloud-based solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Snowflake, including building and maintaining data solutions on the platform.
  • Practical experience with AWS cloud services, including AWS Glue, for data integration and pipeline development.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and optimise them for performance.
  • Proficient Python development experience for data processing, transformation and automation tasks.
  • Demonstrable experience migrating data, reporting or analytics solutions from on-premise environments to cloud platforms.
  • experience developing reporting and visualisation solutions using at least two of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Amazon QuickSight.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and manage expectations effectively.
  • Proven ability to gather, document and refine business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • experience working within Agile delivery environments, contributing to sprints and collaborative project delivery.
  • Comfort working with large datasets and modern cloud technologies in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • experience within Financial Services or Banking, particularly in loans or related reporting domains.
  • Understanding of data architecture and cloud data platforms, including design principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of data engineering and analytics best practices, covering data quality, governance and performance optimisation.
  • experience delivering actionable insights through data visualisation and storytelling to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery, acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Relevant background or prior roles as a Data Analyst focused on cloud migration and reporting.
