Purchasing Specialist – IT Procurement

AMSYS Innovative Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead technology purchasing, vendor coordination, and inventory and receiving operations for our IT managed services and value-added reseller businesses.

This role will own purchasing from sourcing and vendor negotiation through purchase orders, delivery, and invoice reconciliation. We’re looking for someone who understands the technology channel and can keep orders moving, control costs, and support customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Source IT hardware, software, licensing, and related services through manufacturers, distributors, and channel partners.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, product availability, and delivery schedules.
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, and specifications.
• Manage backorders, substitutions, vendor escalations, returns, and RMAs.
• Oversee inventory and receiving processes, including reconciliation and aging inventory.
• Coordinate with sales, engineering, service delivery, and finance to meet project and customer requirements.
• Resolve PO, receiving, and invoice discrepancies and improve purchasing workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within an IT MSP, VAR, technology reseller, or systems integrator.
• Direct responsibility for vendor negotiations, purchase orders, and fulfillment.
• Familiarity with IT hardware, networking equipment, software licensing, and distributor relationships.
• Experience with inventory controls, receiving, and invoice reconciliation.
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems and Excel; experience with Cisco CCW, SAP, Ariba, Coupa, or ConnectWise is a plus.
• Experience leading purchasing staff or coordinating procurement across departments is preferred.
