Blockchain Architect/lead

Job Title: Lead / Hands-On Blockchain Architect Location: UK / Fully Remote (Occasional pre-agreed travel)<br />Duration: 8 Months<br />Rate: Negotiable About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Blockchain Architect to lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade distributed ledger solutions.

This role combines technical leadership with active coding, taking solutions from initial Proof of Concept (PoC) straight through to production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional data, cloud, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly compliant systems. Key Responsibilities Architectural Leadership:

Lead end-to-end design of blockchain solutions, including consensus models, data structures, cryptographic frameworks, and node architectures.<br />Platform Evaluation: Select and implement optimal blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Polygon, Avalanche) based on enterprise needs.<br />Hands-on Engineering:

Actively contribute to the development of smart contracts and core components.<br />Integration &amp; Scaling: Define API layers, node data flows, and enterprise integration patterns for legacy systems.<br />Security &amp; Governance:

Implement strict security best practices (key management, node communication) and define data privacy and access models (GDPR, KYC/AML compliance).

Skills &amp; Experience Required Overall Experience: 8+ years of experience within software engineering and enterprise architecture.<br />Blockchain Expertise: 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience designing and delivering distributed ledger systems.<br />Platforms &amp; Smart Contracts:

Deep technical proficiency with Ethereum, Hyperledger, or Corda , alongside smart contract development languages (Solidity, Chaincode, DAML, or Rust).<br />Core Development: Strong background in languages like Java, Python, Go, or Rust.<br />Cloud &amp; DevOps:

Solid understanding of modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.<br />Industry Frameworks: Prior experience working within heavily regulated environments (FinTech, Banking, or Enterprise) with an understanding of cryptography and data sovereignty.
