location: Chicago, IL 60661 – hybrid 3 days in office

$68 pr hr on W2

W2 candidates with 12month visa validity ( L2S, GC-EAD, & USC)

As a Linux DevOps Engineer you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation solutions using Ansible and Ansible Tower.
• Develop, manage, and optimize Ansible playbooks for server provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
• Support and maintain Linux-based environments, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, configuration, deployment, and application-related issues.
• Manage system configurations, environment setup, and deployment activities across multiple environments. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams to streamline infrastructure processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Analyze and resolve networking-related issues involving proxies, firewalls, load balancing, routing, and connectivity.
• Support infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, patching, and performance optimization efforts.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and improve system reliability through scripting and orchestration tools.
• Monitor system health, investigate incidents, and drive root cause analysis for production issues.
• Assist with repository-based workflows, version control practices, and configuration management standards.
• Support deployment and release activities while ensuring compliance with the best operational practices.
• Document automation processes, system configurations, and operational procedures.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience administering and supporting Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, including creating and managing playbooks.
• Experience with Ansible Tower/AWX for automation and orchestration.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts, including servers, networking, and operating systems.
• Experience troubleshooting networking issues, including firewalls, proxies, DNS, and network connectivity.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment processes.
• Ability to read, modify, and troubleshoot scripts written in Python, Bash/Shell, Go, or Java.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
