Data Integrity and Reporting Specialist

The Data Integrity and Reporting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of organizational data while developing and maintaining reports that support business operations. This role collaborates with multiple departments to identify data quality issues, work with the AVP to implement corrective actions, and provide meaningful insights through data analysis and reporting.

Position Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $23.00 - $25.50 per hour. This is the expected hourly rate for this position. The actual salary offered will depend on a candidate's experience and education, and departmental budget.

Direct reporting relationship to: Assistant Vice President for Institutional Data and Applications

Responsibilities

• Assists with data requests from leadership, academic and administrative departments, accreditation, regulatory reporting, surveys, and research initiatives.
• Collaborates with departments across the university to understand reporting requirements and provide data solutions.
• Monitors, validates, and maintains data quality and accuracy across multiple systems and databases; identifies, investigates, and resolves data discrepancies and integrity issues.
• Integrates and reconciles data from multiple systems to provide accurate, comprehensive reporting.
• Develops, generates, and distributes recurring and ad hoc reports for various campus departments.
• Automates recurring reports and manual data processes when appropriate to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Performs data audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with university data standards.
• Provides training and guidance to staff on accessing, interpreting, and appropriately using institutional data and reporting systems.
• Documents data management processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Ensures compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
• Experience working with databases, Unidata, SQL queries, and reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Ellucian Colleague.
• Familiarity with Technolutions Slate and Entrinsik Informer.
• Knowledge of data quality best practice.
• Understanding of data integration and automation tools.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
The essential functions of this position are primarily performed in an indoor setting with limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is often sedentary in nature and requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods. Required abilities include speaking and hearing for in-person and virtual communication, using close and distance vision when reading documents or viewing screens, and performing tasks with repetitive fine motor skills. Work may require occasional lifting, bending, carrying, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
