IT Strategy Consultant
Location: San Antonio, Texas (Hybrid)
Schedule: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
Role Overview
The IT Strategy Consultant will serve as a strategic partner to senior IT leadership, helping a large technology organization remain organized, aligned, and focused on executing its highest-priority initiatives. This is not a hands-on engineering or technical architecture position. The role is suited for a senior program manager, strategic operations leader, Agile Coach, or IT transformation professional who has worked closely with technology leadership and understands modern technology environments.
Work Environment
Candidates based in San Antonio should expect to work in the office approximately two to three days per week. Candidates located in other approved Texas markets, such as Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Houston, may be expected to travel to San Antonio a couple of times per month. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen, , or permanent resident.
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted thought partner to IT leadership and act as a key liaison between senior leadership, direct reports, product leaders, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives and special projects, such as compliance and risk assessments, reorganizations, and departmental transformations.
• Participate in budget planning, forecasting, expense modeling, and contract negotiation.
• Develop, document, and implement operational processes and procedures to improve team performance and collaboration.
• Represent IT leadership in internal and cross-functional meetings, ensuring effective communication and follow-through on action items.
• Conduct research and analysis on operational, financial, and project data to provide insights that support strategic planning.
• Organize leadership team meeting agendas and facilitate planning sessions.
• Coordinate the hiring process and close gaps between resource managers, HR, and staffing agencies.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive organizational information.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in program management, project management, strategic operations, or strategic execution, preferably within an IT, technology, or engineering environment.
• Previous experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience managing competing priorities across multiple teams or departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
• Agile Coach certification or other program management certifications.
