What you will do:

The Medical Assistant provides routine and repetitive client care activities to patients at Pediatrics Plus. They maintain standards of nursing care, under the supervision of registered nurses and other team members in accordance with the core values, objectives, and policies of Pediatrics Plus. The Medical Assistant provides daily nursing services as well as monitors for all aspects of health and safety.

• Monitor all aspects of health and safety.
• Provide basic care to clients under the supervision of a nurse.
• Be available for all health-related needs of the preschool, including sicknesses, accidents, and incidents.
• Perform a variety of routine client care procedures including recording client height and weight, taking and documenting vital signs, providing assistance with nourishment and infection control techniques.
• Manage and maintain client comfort (restorative and rehabilitative procedures as directed, including band aide application and ice packs as indicated)
• Perform administrative tasks for the nursing team, as needed.
• Be available to collect information from caregivers about client needs and disseminate information to Registered Nurse for follow-up.
• Monitor for potential abuse or neglect situations and follow the required DHS reporting guidelines for any suspected issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification of CMA or RMA.
• Completion of CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program.
• Pediatric experience and knowledge, preferred.

• Computer skills which include a working knowledge of databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet software. 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents. 
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. 
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
• Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code. 
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. 
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to accurately communicate information and ideas so others will understand through sight and hearing. The team member is regularly required to move including walking, running, jumping, and sitting. The team member is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, lift, reach, and feel. The team member is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. If the team member is working at a Farm location, they must be comfortable around standard farm animals, including minimal allergies to touching, smelling, feeding, and engaging with animals.
