Quality Control Assembly Inspector with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Assembly Inspector to join a leading energy and engineering organization onsite in Oak Ridge, TN. The assembly inspector will support advanced manufacturing operations while ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of mission-critical mechanical assemblies. Responsibilities of the Assembly Inspector Includes:

• Perform quality inspections on mechanical and electromechanical assemblies using precision measurement tools.
• Verify critical dimensions, torque requirements, labeling, traceability, and workmanship against specifications and inspection plans.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects while maintaining accurate quality and compliance records.
• Support calibration activities, measurement system verification, and inspection tool maintenance.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and quality teams to ensure assemblies meet requirements before release and to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications of the Assembly Inspector Includes:
• High school diploma + 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly, quality inspection, manufacturing, or related
• Experience with CMM, hands on manufacturing, using measurement equipment, and assembly or dimensional inspection
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and understand basic GD&T principles
• Knowledge of assembly processes, fastener requirements, calibration practices, and quality inspection procedures
• Must be able to pass a government background check and hold an active Top Secret or DOE Q security clearance Compensation of the Assembly Inspector Includes:
• Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000
