Position Summary
The Security Analyst will support the adoption of future-state end-user security solutions and protocols within a large-scale enterprise Human Resources and Payroll transformation initiative.
Responsibilities include supporting security controls, user access management, security configurations, risk mitigation, operational support, data security, compliance activities, and user provisioning/de-provisioning throughout the application lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Governance

• Implement security policies, processes, and standards related to:
• End-user roles
• Data access management
• User provisioning and de-provisioning
• Provide operational security support for end users.
• Ensure completion of security operational documentation.
• Develop security strategies, procedures, roles, and responsibilities.
• Support implementation and maintenance of security controls.
• Support security requirements throughout the user lifecycle.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Identify security requirements through risk and business impact assessments.
• Implement security and data protection policies.
• Collaborate with risk management teams regarding assessments and recommended controls.
• Support audit, compliance, governance, and security-related activities.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting information security.
• Recommend updates to policies, standards, and procedures.

User Access Management

• Define and maintain:
• User roles
• Security groups
• Data access controls
• Provisioning and de-provisioning processes
• Coordinate approved user onboarding and go-live access activities.
• Advise security administrators on authorization requests and exception processing.

Operational Support

• Provide support based on established SLA requirements.
• Facilitate communication between users and vendors using issue management software.
• Support development of operational support processes and documentation.
• Assist in security incident investigation and resolution.
• Serve as liaison between incident response teams and subject matter experts.

Security Monitoring

• Monitor security reports and logs for unusual events.
• Research and evaluate emerging threats and security alerts.
• Recommend remediation activities.

Technical Security Implementation

• Perform configuration updates related to security requirements.
• Participate in implementation and deployment activities.
• Support data conversion activities from legacy systems to new platforms.
• Implement and manage security processes and procedures.

Identity & Access Management
Support implementation of:

• Azure Active Directory (AD)
• Single Sign-On (SSO)
• User Security Roles
• Workflow Security Roles

Required Skills & Qualifications
Security & IAM

• Extensive experience providing operational security support to end users.
• Strong understanding of:
• Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Network Security
• Cloud Security
• SaaS Security
• Data Security
• Encryption
• File Transfer Management

Security Frameworks & Compliance

• Experience with information security management frameworks:
• ISO 2700x
• ITIL
• COBIT
• NIST
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and technologies.
• Experience developing and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures, and standards.

Enterprise Security Experience

• Experience implementing end-user security protocols within large organizations.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale technical configurations and processing environments.
• Understanding of information risk management concepts and principles.

Infrastructure & Networking

• Knowledge of:
• Network infrastructure
• Routers
• Switches
• Firewalls
• Network protocols

Business & Communication

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across multiple business units and organizational levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Tools

• Experience with JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools.

Cloud & SaaS

• Experience supporting Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) implementations.
• Experience migrating legacy on-premise applications to cloud environments.
• Operational security experience in SaaS environments.

HR & Payroll Systems

• Experience with:

Data & Reporting

• Experience with enterprise data and reporting solutions.

Security Administration

• Experience transitioning traditional IT security functions to business teams.
• Experience managing end-user security protocols in large organizations.

Microsoft Technologies

• Experience with Microsoft security tools and functions.
• Experience with Snowflake security functions.

Education & Experience
Education

• Bachelor's degree in:
• Computer Science
• Systems Analysis
• Related field

OR

• Equivalent experience in:
• Audit Compliance
• Security Risk Management
• Compliance Management

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of implementation and operational IT experience in:
• Application Development
• Audit Compliance
• Database Management
• Infrastructure & Network Design
• Security Risk & Compliance Management
• Cloud Solutions

Work Arrangement
Hybrid Schedule

• Minimum four (4) onsite business days per month.
• Remaining days may be worked remotely.
• Must be able to report onsite with little or no notice when required.
• Reasonable proximity to the Boston office is required.
• Travel expenses to the office are not reimbursed.

Work Hours

• Monday through Friday.
• 7.5-hour compensated workday.
• Option for 8-hour workday with supervisor approval.
