Job Description
We are working with a leading global financial-services institution to appoint a Director, Leveraged Finance Credit within its EMEA Corporate & Investment Banking Credit function. This is a high-profile role for a senior credit professional who wants real transaction influence, significant stakeholder exposure and ownership of complex leveraged-finance risk.

Key responsibilities

Assess, challenge and approve, or make recommendations on, complex corporate and leveraged-finance transactions across EMEA.

Provide independent, commercially minded challenge to Relationship Management, Leveraged Finance, Origination and Distribution teams on transaction structure, financial risk, downside scenarios and proposed mitigants.

Review sponsor-backed, acquisition-finance, refinancing and other leveraged lending transactions, ensuring risks are appropriately understood, structured and aligned with the firm's risk appetite.

Take active responsibility for a portfolio of credit exposures, including monitoring performance, identifying early-warning indicators and addressing potential deterioration or policy breaches.

Support the development of credit strategy, sector appetite, risk limits and portfolio priorities across relevant products, industries and geographies.

Represent the Credit function at internal EMEA and global forums, contributing informed views and influencing decisions affecting the wider business.
Candidate profile
We are keen to speak with senior credit professionals who can demonstrate:

Significant experience within Corporate Credit, Leveraged Finance Credit, Acquisition Finance Credit, Sponsor Finance Credit, Wholesale Credit Risk or CIB Credit.

Proven experience of underwriting and assessing complex leveraged-finance, acquisition-finance, sponsor-backed or large corporate lending transactions.

A strong track record of portfolio ownership, including monitoring, watchlist management, amendments, waivers, restructurings or early-warning identification.

The confidence to challenge senior front-office stakeholders constructively, while maintaining a solutions-led and commercially credible approach.

Exposure to financial sponsors, private equity-backed businesses, leveraged lending, syndicated loans, direct lending or complex corporate debt structures would be advantageous.

Experience across TMT, Consumer, Healthcare or broader corporate sectors would be beneficial, although deep LevFin credit expertise is the primary requirement.
