Job Description
This role involves providing end-to-end middleware administration for critical banking platforms, including WebSphere, JBoss, and Tomcat. The engineer will be responsible for delivering enterprise projects, ensuring production stability, and keeping platforms patched to the latest versions. The position requires working closely with application and testing teams to provide J2EE architecture guidance and support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide middleware administration duties for critical banking platforms, end-to-end, including WebSphere, jBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and WXS (extreme scale cache)
- Deliver middleware enterprise projects and regulatory legislative initiatives
- Ensure production stability from an ongoing support standpoint
- Ensure middleware platforms are patched with the most current version of software, helping to manage risk to the customer
- Provide WebSphere Application Server administration that includes server installation, configuration, performance tuning and production support
- Work with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on a daily basis and providing WebSphere and Java support
- Serve as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development
- Design WebSphere infrastructure and WebSphere topology design for high availability and failover capability
- Provide technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas
- Communicate with business partners at an enterprise level; Interfacing with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Execute production changes for client integrated and regulatory releases with precision
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Information Technology professional with 5-7 years of experience
- Middleware products: Apache, J2EE, Java, JBoss, WebSphere Application Server, WebLogic, Tomcat
- Operating System: Linux
- Java/Container Framework Knowledge
- Knowledge of Shell, Jython, and Perl scripting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
Desired skills:
- Kubernetes experience
- Container/Docker experience
Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
