Job Description

Ironwear is a safety solution provider. For over 35 years, we have manufactured, developed and reengineered personal protective equipment (PPE) for industrial markets around the world. Our corporate office is located in West Palm Beach, Florida, with our main distribution center and personalization services operation in Deer Park, Texas, and a sales team that works regionally across the country.

We're looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead human resources and report directly to the President / CEO. As our sole HR professional, you will handle day-to-day HR work and improve our policies and processes. This is a hands-on role for someone who can keep hiring moving, while also handling payroll details and sensitive employee matters.

Recruiting is a central part of the job, and it covers every position we have, from warehouse forklift operators and screen print operators to account managers, customer experience coordinators, order processors and office staff. We need someone who knows how to go out and find strong candidates for all of them.

You'll also own employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, onboarding, performance management and employee development for our employees in Florida, in Texas and across our sales regions.

You will work closely with leadership and managers to address employee needs and apply policies consistently. The position is full-time and on-site at our corporate office in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for every role in the company, from defining each role with the hiring manager through sourcing, screening, interviews, offers and the new hire's first day.
  • Actively find candidates through direct outreach, referrals, professional networks and local hiring sources, and build candidate pipelines before roles open.
  • Write clear job postings, prepare hiring managers for structured interviews and close offers with the candidates we want.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding so employee records, communications and required steps are completed accurately and on time.
  • Address employee concerns, guide managers through employee relations issues and handle sensitive matters with fairness and discretion.
  • Process payroll for employees in multiple states, maintain accurate payroll records and resolve pay-related questions.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes and employee questions, and coordinate with benefit providers.
  • Maintain employee records, manage time-off administration and keep HR documentation accurate, organized and confidential.
  • Support managers with performance reviews, coaching and employee development, and coordinate training.
  • Keep HR policies current and compliant with federal and state employment law, and apply them consistently.
  • Track hiring results such as time to fill, source of hire and offer acceptance, along with turnover and attendance, and report them to leadership.
  • Identify improvements to HR processes and work with the President / CEO to put them into practice.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience as an HR Manager or in a role with comparable responsibility for human resources.
  • Proven record of full-cycle recruiting for a mix of warehouse, production, sales and office roles.
  • Experience finding and hiring candidates through your own direct outreach.
  • Practical experience with employee relations, multi-state payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, federal employment law and the employment laws of Florida, Texas and the other states where our employees work.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day HR work independently and advise managers on employee matters.
  • Sound judgment, discretion and the ability to handle confidential employee information.
  • Strong listening, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and comfort working with spreadsheets, employee records and business software.
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
