About the Role

We are seeking a Workato Senior Engineer / Integration Architect for a six-month onshore engagement supporting B2B integration automation. The role designs, builds and supports Workato recipes, connectors and API-based integrations connecting external partner systems with internal enterprise applications, ERP and data warehouse platforms. The candidate should bring a strong enterprise integration architecture background, hands-on Workato delivery, disciplined error handling and production monitoring practice, and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders and engineering teams. The resource must be US-based and able to work US time zones for the duration of the engagement.

Relevant Experience:

  • Workato Sr Engineer: 7+ years of enterprise integration experience with 4+ years hands-on Workato delivery
  • Integration Architect: 10+ years of integration experience with 3+ years defining Workato architecture standards
  • Proven B2B integration experience connecting external partner systems to internal enterprise applications
  • Strong API integration background across REST and SOAP, webhooks and OAuth
  • Hands-on experience with error handling, monitoring and production support of live integrations
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, Workday or ServiceNow
  • Client-facing experience working with business stakeholders and engineering teams
  • US-based and able to work US time zones for the full six-month engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • B2B integration architecture – architect and implement Workato-based integrations connecting external partner systems with internal ERP, data warehouse and enterprise applications.
  • Recipe development – design and develop Workato recipes using connectors, triggers, actions and REST APIs to automate data exchange, transformation, validation and synchronisation.
  • Standards and reusability – define integration architecture standards, reusable components and recipe design patterns for the team to build against.
  • Custom connectors – build custom connectors using the Workato SDK where standard connectors do not meet requirements.
  • Reliability engineering – implement error handling, retry logic, exception management and production monitoring to ensure reliable data exchange.
  • Performance optimisation – optimise recipes for performance, task consumption and cost, including batching for high-volume flows.
  • API integration – lead API integration across REST, SOAP, webhooks and OAuth, with JSON and XML data transformation.
  • Production support – troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across connected systems, and own root-cause analysis.
  • Stakeholder collaboration – work with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate partner integration requirements into maintainable Workato solutions.
  • Documentation and handover – maintain integration documentation, runbooks and handover material, and support CI/CD and version control practices.

Good to have:

  • Workato Automation Pro certification
  • Experience with other iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi or SnapLogic
  • Domain exposure to Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report and reconciliation
  • Scripting in Python, JavaScript or Ruby
