Position Purpose

The Portfolio Management & Construction Loan Administrator Associate is responsible for providing quality customer service while servicing loans.  This position will influence communication with clients, borrowers, government entities and other third parties (e.g., insurance agents, attorneys, CPA’s etc.), exercising discretion and judgement for the necessary decisions associated with the essential duties of the position, understanding, application and adherence to SBA SOP/Internal policies and procedures and participating in and contributing to weekly departmental and pipeline meetings. Additional Functions include but are not limited to, managing SBA Relationships, evaluation and identification departmental/company risk, drive strategic discussions and implement for maximize departmental efficiencies.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform portfolio management activities and complete government correspondence.
  • Facilitate loan disbursement communications and next steps with lender clients and borrowers and complete government correspondence.
  • Review draw requests and pay applications across the Multi-Draw portfolio for SBA and project compliance.
  • Exhibit a detailed understanding, application and adherence to portfolio management policies and procedures.
  • Keep complete, accurate and auditable electronic supporting documentation packages for all functions that performed.
  • Effectively manage portfolio relationships primarily with banks and associated parties.
  • Properly track all loan disbursements and balances across the Multi-Draw portfolio, reconciling and correcting any discrepancies weekly.
  • Maintain bi-weekly correspondence on every loan.
  • Diligently monitor each loan’s budget vs. actual expenses to ensure correct SBA Authorized Use of Proceeds
  • Work effectively to manage timelines for timely completion of tasks.
  • Understanding of all SBA SOP and associated forms/packages.
  • Draft and Issue Demand Letters on delinquent loans.
  • Prepare timely and compliant disbursement packages to lenders.
  • Submission of Secondary Market Repurchase for loans entering liquidation
  • Guide discussions with Lenders regarding options such as Workout Agreements, Forbearance Agreements, Deed-in-Lieu Agreements.
  • Order any necessary third-party reports and effectively manage third party vendors
  • Work with lender to interface directly with SBA Servicing Center staff
  • Special projects as assigned by a supervisor or any member of senior management.
  • Adhere specifically to all Company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.
  • Complete online and other regulatory compliance training by the specified due dates.
  • Open cases/tickets with vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • 1+ years of related experience in administration, finance, or similar industry.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks while delivering highest levels of customer service with minimal supervision. 
  • SBA and/or commercial loan experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Detailed understanding, application and adherence to portfolio management & construction loan policies and procedures.
  • Banking/Lending Industry specific knowledge based on experience level preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 
  • Must be detail oriented, have effective communication skills, be proactive and big picture thinking. 
  • Must demonstrate resourcefulness, strong organization, and meticulous attention to detail, coupled with excellent multitasking abilities and effective prioritization skills.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: $52,000 - $75,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description. 
  • Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.

Working Arrangements

  • This is a hybrid role expected to work in office Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You will be able to work remotely on Tuesday and Friday– Chicago Office
