About Clyde Paper & Print

Clyde Paper & Print is a family business based in Glasgow, with offices and a 22,000 sq. ft. warehouse near the River Clyde. We started in 1977 and have grown by moving with the times. Our Presentation Packaging division designs and delivers bespoke, high quality printed and packaging products for a wide and growing range of clients, alongside our supply of digital printing papers and corporate print. Our customers include offices, digital printers, print rooms, educational establishments and local authorities.

The role

You will look after our bespoke printed and packaging projects from the first specification and estimate through to delivery. You will be the main contact for customers and suppliers at every stage, making sure artwork, samples and proofs are handled accurately and orders go out correctly and on time.

You will join a small team and have a real say in how the business performs. If you like seeing a job through from quote to doorstep, this role is for you. Experience in print specification or as a packaging technologist would be a real advantage.

What you will be doing

  • Acting as the main contact for bespoke printed and packaging projects, from specification and estimating to final delivery

  • Working with customers to understand their needs, confirm specifications and keep them updated at each stage

  • Sourcing and managing production with suppliers, tracking progress against agreed timelines

  • Reviewing print specifications and artwork to make sure they are accurate and suitable for production

  • Preparing requests for quotation, sending them to suitable suppliers, collating responses, negotiating and producing sales quotations

  • Placing purchase orders and managing artwork, samples and proofs, including timely customer sign-off

  • Quality checking printed products and signing goods off for despatch

  • Working with our warehouse and despatch teams to arrange delivery, and packing and sending samples to clients when needed

  • Keeping accurate project records, timelines and status updates on our internal systems and trackers

  • Following up actions from the supplier issue tracker

  • Suggesting and putting in place improvements to our processes and systems

  • Joining our weekly operations meeting and daily office huddle, and helping keep the office a positive place to work

What you will bring

Essential:

  • Experience in project management, coordination or account management, ideally in print, packaging or a similar manufacturing setting

  • Experience managing projects from quotation through to delivery, working with both customers and suppliers

  • A B2B product or service background

  • Excellent attention to detail across specifications, artwork and finished goods

  • Strong written and verbal communication, good listening skills and the ability to build rapport and negotiate

  • Good time management and the ability to run several projects at once

  • A good level of IT skills and accurate, prompt use of business systems

  • A practical, hands-on approach to quality checking and despatch

Desirable:

  • Print specification or packaging technologist experience

  • Experience working with warehouse, despatch or logistics teams

You will be resilient, honest and positive with customers, suppliers and colleagues. You will put the customer first, be happy working to targets, and enjoy finding better ways of doing things.

What's on offer

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience

  • Pension scheme

  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, and your birthday off

  • Weekday daytime hours with an early finish on Fridays, and some flexibility on start and finish times

  • A friendly family business with a small team where your work is noticed
