The Paint Department Supervisor plays a key role in delivering an excellent customer experience and driving department success, leading a team, overseeing daily operations, and stepping in on the technical side (color matching, tinting) when it matters most. What you'll get to do:

  • Lead, coach, and schedule a team of Paint Sales associates
  • Oversee daily department operations, stocking levels, and merchandising
  • Handle escalated color-matching, tinting, or product issues
  • Assist customers with paint product selection and application questions
  • Ensure the department maintains a professional, welcoming, shopper-friendly environment
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate reordering with the department manager
  • Represent Norfolk Hardware and Norfolk Kitchen & Bath with a professional image at all times
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-5 years' experience in a high-volume hardware retail environment
  • At least 3+ years of experience working with paint products, including tinting, mixing, and color matching
  • Prior experience leading, training, or supervising other associates
  • Self-motivated and available to work weekend hours
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs without assistance frequently

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior experience owning department-level scheduling, inventory, or sales performance
  • Familiarity with merchandising strategies to drive product sales
  • Experience working cooperatively across multiple departments as a point of escalation
