Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, and 
commission custom automation equipment for manufacturing customers.
This role is focused on developing new machines from concept through customer startup. 
The ideal candidate has experience designing controls systems for automated assembly 
equipment, robotic cells, material handling systems, test equipment, and other custom 
industrial machinery.
We are looking for engineers who builds machines from the ground up and seeing them 
come to life on the production floor.
Please Note - This is not a plant maintenance or manufacturing support role.
Key Responsibilities
• Design control systems for custom automation equipment and special-purpose 
machinery.
• Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, I/O architecture, and controls 
documentation.
• Program and troubleshoot: 
o Allen-Bradley PLCs (Must)
o HMIs
o Servo motion systems
o Safety systems
• Develop scalable and maintainable controls architecture.
• Integrate robots, vision systems, motion control, and industrial networking 
technologies.
• Lead controls debug during panel checkout, machine assembly, machine runoff, 
FAT, installation, and startup.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, machine builders, project 
managers, and customers.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Troubleshoot complex machine issues and implement practical solutions.
• Support customer startups and commissioning activities.
• Ensure controls systems meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.


Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related 
field.


• 5+ years of experience designing controls systems for: 
o Custom automation equipment
o Factory automation systems
o Assembly machinery
o Special-purpose machinery
o Industrial equipment
• Strong PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation.
• Experience integrating industrial robots such as FANUC, Yaskawa, Epson, ABB,etc.
• Experience with: 
o Studio 5000 / Logix
o FactoryTalk View
o Servo motion systems
o VFDs
o Industrial safety systems
• Experience developing electrical schematics using: 
o AutoCAD Electrical
o EPLAN
o Similar electrical CAD software
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
• FANUC / Epson / ABB robot integration.
• Cognex or Keyence vision systems.
• Machine safety and risk assessment experience.
• Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet, etc.).
• Ignition SCADA.
• Siemens TIA Portal.
• Beckhoff controls.
• C# or object-oriented programming experience.
• Experience leading controls activities through full machine lifecycle.


Travel: Up to 10% travel for customer support, commissioning, startup, and FAT activities
