Job description

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded finance and business operations professional to join Tecsa on a fixed-term basis, providing maternity cover for our Chief Financial Officer.

This is a broad role encompassing financial management, commercial operations, corporate governance and business compliance.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the business, providing financial oversight, supporting commercial decision-making and maintaining effective internal processes.

The role includes line management responsibility for an Accounts Assistant, who supports the day-to-day finance operations, including customer and supplier invoice processing and payroll administration.

The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter who combines strong financial expertise with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing business where responsibilities extend beyond traditional finance.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and effective financial controls.
  • Managing and supporting an Accounts Assistant responsible for customer and supplier invoice processing and payroll administration.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, manage multiple monthly payrolls and monitor cash flow.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and business objectives, providing commercial insight to the senior leadership team.
  • Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and other professional service providers.
  • Support statutory reporting, tax compliance and other financial obligations across the Group's international operations.

Other Business Support

In addition to the core finance responsibilities, the role will provide support across a range of commercial, governance and operational activities. Ownership of these areas will be shared with other members of the business, with the successful candidate providing input and coordination as required.

  • Support the review and management of commercial contracts, including client and supplier agreements, MSAs, SOWs and NDAs.
  • Provide financial and commercial input into client proposals, RFPs, pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
  • Assist with contract renewals, supplier management and commercial governance.
  • Support corporate governance activities, including company documentation, compliance requirements and liaison with external advisers.
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of Tecsa's ISO 27001 information security management framework, including audit preparation, compliance monitoring and associated processes.
  • Provide ad hoc operational and project support to the CEO and senior leadership team.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong financial management skills, including management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial controls.
  • Experience overseeing financial operations and coordinating statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to interpret financial information and provide practical business advice.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership teams and contributing to business decision-making.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and hands-on approach, with the flexibility to support wider business activities when required.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in a technology, SaaS, data analytics or professional services business.
  • Experience managing international financial operations and multi-entity reporting.
  • Familiarity with commercial contracts, including MSAs, SOWs and supplier agreements.
  • Exposure to corporate governance, regulatory compliance or ISO 27001.
  • Experience working in a growing, entrepreneurial or private equity-backed business.
  • Flexible working: Part-time role, 3 days per week.
  • Option to be fully remote: UK-based remote working majority of the time, with occasional travel for business meetings to London (Paddington) if required.
  • Fixed-term opportunity: Approximately 10-month maternity cover contract, with a planned start date of late January/ early February 2027 to allow for handover.
  • Flexible engagement: Open to either a fixed-term employment contract or an interim contractor arrangement, depending on the successful candidate's preference and business circumstances.
  • Senior-level exposure: Opportunity to work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team of a growing international business.
  • Varied responsibilities: A broad finance leadership role with exposure to commercial and operational activities.
  • Competitive remuneration: Dependent on experience and engagement arrangement.
