Robert Half is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to play a pivotal role in leading day-to-day accounting operations, strengthening financial processes, and supporting strategic decision-making across our client's organization.
As the trusted right hand to the Controller, you'll oversee the monthly close process, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury support while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and strong internal controls. Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory accounting.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff through coaching, performance management, and ongoing feedback.
• Manage annual 1099 and W-2 reporting.
• Act as backup signatory and coordinate treasury approvals in the Controller's absence.
• Support the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Support grant and restricted fund accounting, ensuring donor compliance and proper release of restrictions.

Requirements

The ideal Assistant Controller candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree with Accounting or Finance Concentration. CPA designation required.

Other requirements for the Assistant Controller position include and are not limited to:

• 5+ years of Non-Profit Accounting experience, ideally with restricted revenue or restricted net assets
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• NetSuite experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. 
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
