Job Description

About the role

Capitex is hiring Junior Fraud Analysts on a remote, short-term contract to support the Digital Fraud Operations team of a leading bank in the Middle East.

You will join a shift-based team covering evening and overnight hours, monitoring and responding to suspicious activity across the bank's digital channels. Working alongside the bank's in-house fraud analysts, you will be the first line of defence protecting customers from fraud out of hours.

  • Contract: approx. 2 months, with potential for extension
  • Location: remote
  • Shifts: evening and night rota
  • Equipment: laptop provided

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and triage real-time fraud alerts across card, online banking, mobile banking and payment channels.
  • Review flagged transactions and account activity to identify genuine fraud and close false positives.
  • Contact customers to verify suspicious transactions, following the bank's authentication procedures.
  • Take immediate protective action where required, such as blocking cards, holding payments or restricting account access.
  • Escalate complex, high-value or confirmed fraud cases to L2 analysts and investigators in line with escalation protocols.
  • Record clear, accurate case notes and decisions on the case management system.
  • Spot emerging fraud patterns and typologies and flag them to the wider team.
  • Provide structured shift handovers so open cases are picked up without delay.
  • Meet alert handling SLAs and quality standards while following the bank's policies and procedures.

Essential requirements

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a fraud operations, fraud monitoring or transaction monitoring role within banking, payments or fintech.
  • Hands-on experience triaging fraud alerts and making clear genuine or fraud decisions.
  • Solid understanding of common fraud types, including card fraud, account takeover, authorised push payment (APP) and social engineering scams.
  • Experience using a fraud detection or case management system.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers by phone to verify activity, calmly and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate, concise case note writing.
  • Sound judgement under pressure and confidence acting quickly within set procedures.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Available to work evening and overnight shifts on a rota basis.
  • Reliable home working setup with a stable internet connection and a quiet, private workspace.

Desirable

  • Experience with fraud platforms such as FICO Falcon, NICE Actimize, Featurespace, Feedzai or similar.
  • Experience working night shifts or out-of-hours rotas in a fraud or operations team.
  • Arabic language skills.
  • Exposure to GCC or Middle East retail banking.
  • Understanding of card scheme rules and chargeback processes.
  • A relevant certification, such as CFE or an ICA fraud qualification, or working towards one.
