Scope: Multiple Data Centers | 5000+ Infrastructure Assets

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Lead to coordinate a large-scale data center asset relocation, migration, and decommissioning program across multiple data centers. The role will work closely with Data Center Operations, infrastructure engineering teams, TPMs, application/business owners, and PMO to ensure assets are properly migrated, relocated, decommissioned, and documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate data center relocation, migration and decommissioning activities across multiple facilities.
• Coordinate infrastructure across Windows, Linux, Solaris, VMware/ESXi, Storage and Network environments.
• Lead/coordinate TPMs and technical teams responsible for 5000+ physical and virtual assets.
• Manage asset lifecycle activities including inventory, relocation, rack moves, shutdowns, decommissioning and disposition.
• Maintain detailed tracking of assets, owners, migration status, dependencies, risks, resources and completion dates.
• Work with Data Center Operations, Server, Storage, Network, VMware, Database and Application teams to identify dependencies and execute migration/decommission activities.
• Maintain and reconcile infrastructure information across DCIM, CMDB, AMDB and Sunbird.
• Coordinate with PMO and stakeholders on weekly status, risks, issues, dependencies and milestones.
• Ensure accurate asset records, rack/location information, CMDB/AMDB updates and decommission documentation.
• Coordinate change windows, shutdowns, physical moves and final asset removal.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of Data Center Operations / Infrastructure Operations experience.
• Strong experience with data center relocation, consolidation, migration or decommissioning.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure asset inventories.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, Solaris, VMware/ESXi, Storage and Network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of physical data center environments, including racks, servers, storage, network equipment and cabling.
• Experience with DCIM, CMDB, AMDB and/or Sunbird.
• Strong asset lifecycle / ITAM experience.
• Experience coordinating multiple technical teams and TPMs.
• Strong risk, dependency, status tracking and stakeholder management skills.
• ServiceNow/CMDB experience good to have.
