Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Jackson, MS – Onsite

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to support and advance a large enterprise networking environment. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting modern data center, campus, identity-driven networking, security, and network observability technologies.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role supporting mission-critical infrastructure across data centers and statewide operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cisco ACI & Data Center Networking

• Design, implement, and maintain Cisco Nexus platforms running Cisco ACI.
• Configure and support VRFs, Bridge Domains, EPGs/ESGs, L3Outs, contracts, and fabric policies.
• Integrate ACI with Red Hat OpenShift, virtualization, and Cilium/Isovalent environments.
• Support and troubleshoot ACI fabric health, endpoint learning, contracts, faults, and segmentation.
• Support RoCEv2 within ACI environments.
• Develop network standards, architecture diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures.

Cisco Catalyst & Software-Defined Access

• Deploy and support Cisco Catalyst platforms in enterprise campus environments.
• Design and maintain Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) architectures.
• Support SDA wired and wireless fabric, underlay/overlay, policy mapping, authentication, and assurance.
• Collaborate with wireless teams on network performance and policy enforcement.

Identity & Network Security

• Configure and administer Cisco ISE for TACACS+, authentication, authorization, policy sets, and endpoint profiling.
• Support Cisco Cyber Vision for OT/IoT visibility and device classification.
• Support Zero Trust initiatives and identity-based segmentation across ACI and SDA.
• Design and implement Palo Alto Networks security solutions.

Network Visibility & Observability

• Deploy and manage ThousandEyes for end-to-end network visibility and routing-path analysis.
• Support Cyber Vision for OT/IoT asset visibility and behavioral analysis.
• Support DNA Spaces for location analytics, telemetry, and wireless intelligence.
• Provide network performance insights and recommendations to technical leadership.

Core Network Engineering

• Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues.
• Strong experience with TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP, multicast, QoS, and network security.
• Assist with network modernization, upgrades, procurement, and enterprise technology initiatives.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, standards, and network asset documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Strong hands-on production experience with Cisco ACI.
• Deep knowledge of:
  • VRF
  • Bridge Domains
  • EPG / ESG
  • L3Out
  • Contracts
  • ACI fabric policies
• Experience integrating ACI with OpenShift and Cilium/Isovalent.
• Strong experience with Cisco Catalyst and SDA/SD-Access.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, including TACACS+, NAC, policy sets, and endpoint profiling.
• Experience with ThousandEyes, Cyber Vision, DNA Spaces, or comparable network visibility platforms.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, QoS, and network security.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCIE, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Data Center, or equivalent experience.
• Container networking and virtualization experience.
• Python, Ansible, REST APIs, or other network automation experience.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies.
• Knowledge of NIST frameworks and cybersecurity requirements.
• Experience working in state government or large enterprise environments.
• PCCSA or PCNSA certification is a plus.
