RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer in Memphis, TN.

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, optimize, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. This individual will play a key role in building secure, scalable, resilient cloud environments and partnering across infrastructure, security, application development, and technology teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on Azure engineering experience with the ability to operate at a senior level, troubleshoot complex cloud environments, automate infrastructure, and contribute to cloud architecture and technical direction.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services
• Build secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient Azure environments
• Deploy and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, databases, identity, and related infrastructure services
• Design and support Azure networking, including Virtual Networks, subnets, routing, load balancing, private connectivity, and network security
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates
• Develop automation using tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python to improve cloud provisioning and operational efficiency
• Partner with application development, security, networking, and infrastructure teams to support cloud-based applications and services
• Monitor and optimize Azure environments for performance, availability, security, scalability, and reliability
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, connectivity, performance, and deployment issues
• Support cloud security and identity practices using technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, and managed identities
• Contribute to cloud architecture decisions, engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; Equivalent professional experience will also be considered
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical role
• Significant hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting solutions within Microsoft Azure
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale, production Azure environments
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM templates
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or similar technologies
• Experience designing solutions with scalability, resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery in mind
• Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and cloud architecture
• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity, access management, and networking concepts
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex cloud infrastructure issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Experience operating at a Senior Azure Engineer, Azure Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Platform Engineer, or Azure Architect level
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Experience supporting cloud migrations or modernization initiatives
• Experience working within hybrid cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with cloud governance, monitoring, automation, and cost-optimization practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
